Hi, I am Ruaan.
I plan your trip, I book it, and I am the one you phone from the airport if something goes wrong.
I have been in the travel industry for seven years. Trouvaille Holidays is my own business, run from Paradise Beach in Jeffreys Bay, and it is deliberately small. You are not handed to whoever is next in the queue, and nobody has to look up who you are before they can help you.
Being small has one real cost, which is that I cannot take on everything. If I am the wrong person for your trip I will tell you so, and where I can I will point you at the right one. I would rather lose a booking than sell you a holiday I do not believe in.
How I work
Three things you should know before we start
I ask about money early
Not to sell you something bigger. The opposite: knowing the number means I stop wasting your time on options that were never going to work, and it usually saves you more than it costs.
I will argue with you
If you ask for a resort I think is wrong for your family, I will say so and tell you why. You can overrule me. But you will have heard it.
I answer the phone
Including when a flight moves at eleven at night. That is genuinely the thing people come back for, and it is the one part of this that cannot be automated.
The backing
Small business, global systems
Trouvaille Holidays is a member of Envoyage, the independent network of Flight Centre Travel Group. In practice that means your booking is made and ticketed inside a global travel business, with its buying power behind the price and its ticketing desk behind the booking, while the person planning it is still me.
It also means access to product and rates that do not appear on public booking sites, which is where a lot of the value in using me actually sits.
