Maldives
The shortest possible distance between landing and doing absolutely nothing.
In Ruaan's words
Why I send people here
The Maldives is the one place where the property is the entire holiday. There is nothing to drive to and nothing to see beyond the water, so the resort has to be right, and there are a hundred and fifty of them.
The two decisions that matter are the transfer and the reef. A seaplane is spectacular and adds real cost and daylight-only timing. A speedboat is cheaper and limits how far out you can go. And a house reef you can swim to from your own steps is worth more than any room upgrade, because it is the difference between snorkelling every day and booking a boat every time.
It is the most expensive thing I sell, and it is the one where the difference between a good agent and a booking site is most obvious. Half of these resorts run offers that never appear online.
What makes it
Three things that decide the trip
The house reef
Swim off your steps. Choose the resort for this before you choose it for the room.
Overwater, or not
Overwater villas photograph better. Beach villas with a pool are usually the better holiday, and cheaper.
Half board or all in
The maths changes completely depending on the resort. I will show you the actual numbers.

What you actually receive
Click the right hand page to turn it. This is the shape of the document that lands in your inbox after we talk, not a brochure.
Male, then out

Land, and a seaplane or speedboat depending on which atoll. You are in the water by afternoon.
The reef

Snorkel off your own steps before breakfast, which is the whole reason for the resort choice.

The reef
Out on a dhoni

A sandbank for the morning. Nobody else on it.

Out on a dhoni
Nothing

Genuinely nothing. This is what you paid for.

Nothing
Back

Timed so you are not sitting in Male for six hours.

Or somewhere else
